Customer Reviews for Cobb County Toyota

NEVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. I recently had some problems with the transmission on my 2001 Rav4. I had the transmission rebuilt at an outside shop. The shop that repaired the transmission said that their tech department told them that there was some sort of problem with the car's computer and the transmission would not work without the changes to the computer. I took the car to Cobb County Toyota (the same dealership that sold me the car), and told them the transmission problems I had been having and what the other shop had told me. They proceeded to diagnose the car (at a charge of $100, of course) and came back with a recommendation of replacing the transmission and stated there were no computer updates. The other shop then spent about 3 more weeks rebuilding the transmission several more times before they found the actual documentation from Toyota about the computer. It turns out the entire computer needed not simply to be updated, but completely replaced - AND it was covered under warranty for 2,000 more miles. I returned to Cobb County Toyota to show them the bulletin and ask them to replace the computer under the warranty and refund my diagnostic fee for the misdiagnosis. They refused to provide the refund AND, most importantly, flat out refused to do the work that was still covered under Toyota's warranty and told me I was no longer welcome to bring my car to be serviced with them. I took the car to Marietta Toyota the next day and had the part replaced under warranty with no problems. One transmission rebuild and a couple of days later, my car was up and running again now that the bad computer had been replaced and could no longer burn up the pieces of the transmission. They are happy to take your money when you want to buy a car, but will screw you on your warranties later!! Do not buy from this dishonest dealership!
