Appeals of divorce and family law cases
The majority of cases that are appealed are dismissed because the Appellant did not follow the proper appellate procedure. In most instances in which your appeal is dismissed, you have lost your right to appeal. To alleviate the chance of your case being dismissed, let an attorney experienced with the process navigate the appellate process.
After over 25 years as a family law attorney, I have expanded my practice to include appeals of family law cases. Although my experience is primarily with appeals of domestic relations cases, I will consider appeals of other types of cases. My expertise includes navigating the appellate process, keeping up with changes in the law, and knowing when to file a direct appeal and when a discretionary application is required. Other areas of expertise conducive to appeals include excellent written and verbal communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and an inherent aptitude for research.
In addition to drafting appellate briefs, I am available for consultation regarding navigating the post-judgment process in the trial court.
